    • Sunday, February 6 - 8:00 AM
      Cost: Registration Fee
    • North Collier Regional Park 15000 Livingston Rd, Naples, FL 34109

What is the best decade? It is without a doubt the 80’s. Those who grew up in the 80’s want to go back and those who didn’t want to go and experience it. It was a time with crazy hairstyles, clothes, music and technology. It was a time when technology was just reaching out to a whole new world. Computers, Atari and Walkmans were ruling the world. The 80’s took us from records and 8-tracks to the amazing and compact cassette tape. It was so amazing that we could fit all our music on this little cassette tape. We could hold this amazing electronic device called a walkman and play our cassette tape. You could rewind, fast forward and pause our music on demand….WOW! Who remembers taking a #2 pencil to fix their cassette tape, we all did it.

The 80’s were a decade of unforgettable clothes, hairstyles and music. There were many hair supply companies that thrived in the 80’s because of all the hairspray used to get your hair just as you wanted it. Girls could not make their hair fluffy or puffy enough. Guys wanted their hair longer and straighter. The mullet was such a work of art. To compliment the great hair women wore wonderful wardrobes with items like jelly bracelets, jelly shoes, leg warmers, shoulder pads Guess jeans and vibrant neon clothing. The men loved to wear denim and members only jackets, baggy pants, tight white shirt and parachute pants. People would spend all this time on their hair and outfits to go out and listen to amazing music. The decade started with some unforgettable bands like Duran Duran, Motley Crew, Bon Jovi, Metallica, R.E.M., Eurythmics, A-Ha, Wham and Depeche Mode. The finished with some amazing group becoming mainstream such as Guns n Roses, Beastie Boys, Madonna and Michael Jackson. The 80’s introduced us to rap with the likes of Run DMC, Beastie Boys, Public Enemy, 2-Live Crew, Slick Rick and N.W.A. The 80s were such a revolutionary time in the music industry and is still a major influence on music today.

There was so many great moments in the 80’s and would like to take you back to this amazing time at the Inaugural I LOVE THE 80’s 5K Run/Walk. The day promises to be a trip down memory lane and an experience to the most unforgettable decade. We will have the best 80’s music playing all day. We ask that everyone dress in the best 80’s outfit (including your hair style). We will award prizes for male and female best hair, outfit and group coordination outfit. Please be creative as you take a trip back to the good old days.

We encourage your to tell your friends and family about this fun day and encourage your to get a group together. Sign up as a group and save 10% on all entries within your group. We will have special prizes for largest group and best dressed group.

Register today to ensure your spot at our visit to the 80’s.

    • Saturday, March 5 - 7:30 am - 11:00 am

Disco, Funk, Soul, R&B, Pop, Hard Rock, Soft Rock, Punk Rock, and Easy Listening all carved their own unique place in the music world during the 1970’s. Discotheques (or discos) appeared around the country, gaining more and more popularity, until even the radio stations had to copy the style. Discos were made for dancing, with mainly a form of soul music being played with a strong bass and drum beat. Barry White, Gloria Gaynor, and Van McCoy were popular artists within the disco circles.

The 1970’s were also a decade of some of the most popular and long lasting bands in music history. Some of the most famous 70’s bands include The Beatles, Grateful Dead, The Bee Gees, Led Zeppelin, The Jackson 5, and many more. So much of their music will live on forever and the 70’s Disco 5K is you opportunity to relive all the great music of this generation. The 70’s Disco 5K will flash you back to the music, costumes, and images of the 1970’s

We are excited to host the 70’s Disco 5K on Saturday February 27, 2021 at Quiet Waters Park in Deerfield Beach, FL. This promises to be a fun, energetic, and safe event for everyone looking to take a trip back to the 70’s. About Snowfest

Collier County Parks & Recreation Department has sponsored Snowfest to the public since 1985. Snowfest is one of Collier County Parks & Recreation Division’s signature events, and the event was established with the concept of giving the community the thrill of getting to play in snow in 80-degree weather. Starting out with only 5 tons of snow and a few hundred people, the festival has grown to become Collier County’s largest community event, attracting thousands of people.

Snowfest has many attractions, but the leading attraction is the 100 tons of snow. 1200 blocks of ice are trucked in and put through an ice chipper, which is magically transformed into snow. Other attractions include a full scale carnival, entertainment, hands on arts & crafts, food vendors, and more.

Snowfest attracts individuals of all ages, from infants to grandparents. Neapolitan Family Magazine even awarded Snowfest, The Family Choice Award - Best Fun for the Family - Festival or Event for Kids. Since its inception, many other Florida cities and counties have contacted us about the event to establish their own snow festivals. The department is very proud of the success of Snowfest and strives to make each year more spectacular than ever.

About the 4th of July Celebration

Did you know that July is Parks and Recreation Month? It’s true! Since 1985, America has celebrated July as the nation’s official Park and Recreation Month. National Parks and Recreation Month brings focus to a community’s park and recreation assets and encourages the community to participate in quality leisure activities at local, regional, state and national parks.

To kick off Parks and Recreation Month, come join us, and celebrate Independence Day Naples style at the free 4th of July Celebration proudly brought to you by Collier County Parks and Recreation Division along with the Veterans Services Division.

Locals and visitors alike agree that they cannot think of anything better than relaxing with family and friends at this enormous park, watching an extraordinary show of lights in the sky. This is everyone’s first choice for 4th of July celebrations in Naples.
