Immokalee Sports Complex Project Update

Sports Field Lighting Upgrade

Scope: Collier County Parks & Recreation continues to advance the lighting enhancement project at Immokalee Sports Complex. All three soccer fields will receive upgraded, energy-efficient lighting systems to improve visibility and enhance the overall playing experience.
Impact: During the construction phase, and to ensure safety and minimize disruption, one field will be closed at a time for approximately two weeks during installation. The remaining fields will remain open for community use.
Status: Parks & Recreation and Procurement are finalizing the purchase order. Once the purchase order is issued, installation scheduling and field availability will be coordinated with on-site staff.

Sports Field Turf Conversion

Scope: This project will construct two artificial-turf multipurpose fields and includes stormwater improvements, fencing, and landscaping.
Impact: Temporary field closures will be communicated well in advance to minimize community disruption.
Status: The bid package (what a potential vendor needs to know about the project) was submitted to Procurement on October 29 and is currently under review. A variance request from technical development standards was approved by the Hearing Examiner on October 24, and updated plans and specifications were received on October 15. The County anticipates releasing the solicitation in late Q4 2025, with construction projected to begin in Q3 2026, and substantial completion in Q2 2027.

Project start dates and user-impact notifications will be distributed through official Collier County Parks & Recreation communication channels.

The Immokalee sports complex boast a total of 3 lighted multipurpose fields, with spectator bleachers. A newly resurfaced indoor gymnasium which can be utilized for basketball, volleyball, & futsal. We have a brand fitness center that has been remodeled in the last year with all new state of the art equipment. The complex also has 1 competition pool with 6 lap lanes, a water slide, & 1 diving board. In addition we also have a new resurfaced & designed activity pool with a zero depth entry that slope to 1ft 6 ins. In the facility we also have restrooms, showers, & lockers for personal belongings. The sports complex is unique in its design because of the fact that we have it all under one roof. Whether that be if you’re looking to lounge on the pool deck with family & friends or simply play a few pickup games in the indoor basketball gym.
