Caxambas Park Update
On January 3rd, there was a public bid opening for the main permanent restoration project which includes the full replacement of the seawall, floating and stationary docks and ramps.The submission from the apparent low bidder for the project is being evaluated now and the engineer of record and staff will develop a recommendation for an award of the construction contract to the Board of County Commissioners as quickly as possible. The submitted bids for this project were approximately $2.7M and $3.1M.
The project is expected to take 8-12 months.
Caxambas Park is a beautiful water access point located on upscale Marco Island. This public boat access point includes a 4 acre park, ample parking, concessions for sale from sunscreen to food and allows easy access to the Northern Ten Thousand Islands or Gulf of Mexico.
