Collier County’s desirable coast reaches its zenith at Barefoot Beach Preserve, where numerous animal species reside and visitors are able to enjoy the ambience of the park’s natural surroundings. Barefoot Beach Preserve is 342 acres of natural land, one of the last undeveloped barrier islands on Florida’s Southwest coast. Visit Friends of Barefoot Beach Preserve Website. Visitors, are you curious about the bird you saw near the water, what shell you found or where gopher tortoises can be found? (Not in the water!) Would you enjoy a few minutes to color a dolphin or make a shell necklace with your kids or grandkids? Docents will be available in parking lot 1 during the 2026 season from 10 A.M. to 2 P.M. on Monday and Wednesday through Friday to answer questions, provide literature, and share engaging activities for children. We are happy to share our enthusiasm for The Barefoot Beach Preserve!
